Background & Experience
Performing and teaching is a great source of joy for me. My goal as a teacher is for my students to have the same opportunity; to experience joy making music! While it does take dedication and practice to master an instrument, the process can be enjoyed with the right music and the right teacher! I have specific training in musical pedagogy that has helped me learn how to make each lesson musically meaningful.
-Degree in music with special emphasis in elementary music education.
-10 years of experience teaching private music lessons.
-Kodaly certified by the International Kodaly Society. This training gave me the tools to teach children musical concepts through meaningful experiences. I apply this knowledge to my private teaching every lesson!
-Students have participated in all-county band, all-district band and state-wide performance evaluations.
-Taught vocal emphasized music literacy classes to grades k-4 and directed children's choir.
