Background & Experience

Allie Deaver began playing flute at the age of 8 and it quickly became herfirst love. She now holds a
bachelorʼ s degree with high honors in flute performance from DePaul University where she studied
with renowned Chicago flutists Mary Stolper and Jennifer Clippert. In the past, she has been selected
to perform in master classes with world class flutists such as Andras Adorjan, Bonita Boyd, Amy
Porter, Leone Buyse and Donald Peck. In 2010, she traveled to Malaga, Spain to perform as well as to
participate in Wil Offermans’ International Summer Flute Course, and in summer 2011, she traveled to
Taos, NM to perform for master teacher Keith Underwood. Most recently, Allie's travels brought her to North Africa with U.S.-based NGO Cultures in Harmony, an organization which uses music to begin cross-cultural dialogues. In Egypt, she worked with the Egpyitan organization Bridge Foundation to create and perform multicultural compositions. In Tunisia, Allie worked with the Atlas Arts Academy to run and teach at a music camp for Tunisian students ages 10-25.

Allie is a freelance performer and an avid lover of new and creative approaches to performance. She
acts as principal the Bensenville Chamber Orchestra and was recently featured as a soloist with the
orchestra. She can be heard regularly in recitals in the area and with has been heard with the Skokie
Valley Symphony Orchestra, Lakeside Pride Symphony Orchestra and Chicago-based post-rock, post-jazz
collective Tomorrow Music Orchestra and as a part of acclaimed Chicago theater collective Redmoon
Theater. Additionally, she is the co- founder, director and a performer with Classical Revolution Chicago:
a group of musicians whose mission is to present concerts involving both traditional and modern
approaches while engaging the community by offering chamber music performances in highly accessible
venues. Dedicated to sharing her love of music and contributing positively to the lives of young people,
Allie is a regular guest clinician and ensemble coach and maintains a large private studio in the Chicago
area. Her students regularly travel to IMEA all-state festivals and have won honors in several local competitions.
