Background & Experience
28 years public music teaching experience in elementary, middle school, and high school bands and jazz studies. Private teaching experience for all grade levels including undergraduate applied saxophone. Currently completing 19th year in Oak Park, teaching elementary and middle school band. Jayme has received recognition from ISBE Those Who Excel Award, Missouri Fine Arts Camp Recognition, and has been honored twice in the the Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
Retired clarinetists and saxophonist with the United States Air Force Band Program. Performed with the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest, Air National Guard Band of the Central States, AMC Band of Mid America, and ACC Heartland of America Band. Over 30 years experience as a freelance musician in the St. Louis and Chicago Metropolitan areas. Previously employed by Encore Entertainment Agency (St. Louis), Vargas Swing (St. Louis), Jazz Edge Big Band (St. Louis), and The Pete Ellman Big Band (Chicago). Jayme has performed with Ellis Marsalis, Bob Mintzer, Lou Rawls, Clark Terry, Mel Tormé, Dick VanDyke, Frank Wess, Jimmy Wilkins, and James Williams
