Background & Experience
Clarinetist Rebecca Graham a graduate of Northwestern University and the Eastman School of Music. She is a faculty member of the YOURS Project at the People's Music School in Chicago, an el sistema program on Chicago's North Side. Already in demand as an orchestral musician, she has performed with the Little Mahler Orchestra in Chicago, the Genesee Symphony and Rochester Chamber Orchestras. She has appeared at the Brevard Music Festival in 2008 and 2009 and the Pacific Music Festival in Japan in 2012. As a soloist, she has performed with the Eastman Philharmonia as a winner of the Eastman Concerto Competition, as well as the Florida State Honors Chamber Winds. An avid performer of contemporary music, Rebecca premiered Michael Lee’s award-winning quartet Dance Preludes in the Chamber Music Rochester concert series, and has collaborated with emerging and award winning composers Allan Schindler, Justin Hoke. Andrew McManus, and Daniel Tacke, and has frequently performed with the new music ensembles Ossia and Musica Nova. Rebecca is comfortable teaching students of all ages and all ability levels. As a dedicated instructor, she believes in cultivating the creative and artistic potential of students, and maintains a rigorous yet nurturing teaching atmosphere. Her students in Gainesville, Florida are repeat members of the Florida All State and All County Honor bands.
Rebecca also is an experienced high school and middle school sectional instructor for both marching bands and concert bands and has worked extensively with the Buchholz High School music program in Gainesville, Florida.
