Background & Experience

The goal of TAD SUZUKI PIANO STUDIO is to teach my students how to enjoy obtaining the skill of being able to create beautiful melodies from playing the piano in a way that is most rewarding and effective for them. I will coach and guide you to the feelings of accomplishment and joy that come with learning how to play beautiful music on the piano.

TAD SUZUKI PIANO STUDIO is located in the heart of Chicago's Loop. I have been teaching classical piano music as well as improvisations for cocktail lounge style piano music. I'm looking forward to teaching any age students, beginner or intermediate. I hope you can join my studio! Please feel free to contact me for any questions, and fill out the Student Registration Form.

ABOUT ME:
I’m a professional pianist performing at various venues in the Chicago area for over ten years, and I am the resident pianist at several of Chicago’s most prestigious private clubs such as Green Acres Country Club and The Standard Club. I play for cocktails and weddings at major hotels including Palmer House Hilton Hotel. I was music director for the Loop Players at Harold Washington College for over 10 years since 1997, directing/accompanying numerous musicals performed by the Loop Players. I play all genres of music including jazz, pops, show-tunes, ragtime and classical. I hold a Master's Degree of Music in Piano Performance from DePaul University School of Music and a Bachelor's Degree of Music in Piano Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University.

I have been playing the piano for over 30 years. I had intensive piano, music ensemble and aural training from the age of five at the YAMAHA Music Academy in Tokyo, Japan. Later in Chicago, I studied with Melody Lord, who performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) for over 25 years, whose teacher is current CSO principal pianist, Mary Sauer. Later, I was accepted with a Performance Scholarship by the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University, where I received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with Honors, studying with Winston Choi, Head of Piano Department as well as Ani Gogova, performing artist. I continued studying at DePaul University School of Music where I received a Master of Music in Piano Performance, receiving Music Performance Awards, studying with international concert artist, George Vatchnadze.
