Background & Experience

Skyler Johnson received his Bachelors Degree in Euphonium Performance from the University of Oregon where he had daily exposure to both the Tuba and the Euphonium. He then received his Masters Degree in Bass Trombone Performance from DePaul University. Skyler is currently the Bass Trombonist with the Quad City Symphony, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and the Oconomowoc Chamber Orchestra. He is also an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and is on the substitute list for the Milwaukee Symphony. Skyler has also performed with the DePaul Jazz Ensemble, Northwest Indiana Symphony, Walla Walla Symphony, Eugene Symphony, and Elgin Symphony. Skyler is on faculty at the Music Connection and is also a freelance performer and instructor throughout the Chicagoland area. Skyler’s principal teachers have been Michael Grose, Sam Pilafian, Dan Satterwhite, Mark Fisher, and Charles Vernon.
