Background & Experience

Drummer, Chris Edwards is a long time veteran of the Chicago music scene. Edwards is mainly known in the Blues and Jazz community but is also regularly recruited to play R&B and Gospel. He’s even been known to cover the occasional Reggae and stage show assignment.

Chris has played behind and shared the stage with a long list of notable performers including Koko Taylor, Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy Smith, Buddy Miles and Kenny Burrell. He was the first electronic percussionist to play Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and he’s been a Regional Judge for Guitar Center’s National Drumoff contest three times.

Currently, Chris is the Entertainment Chairman for the Day In Our Village festival in Oak Park. He’s a freelance writer and photographer for Modern Drummer magazine, a member of both the Jazz Institute of Chicago and The Percussive Arts Society.
