Nick Murdick regularly performs with violinist Irina Mueller in duo and trio collaborations and enjoys performing baroque continuo and bass lines on the horn. Nick was a featured horn soloist on the Montana Northern Arts Association Recital Series performing Reinhardt’s Horn Concerto and Brahms’s Horn Trio with violinist Irina Mueller.
Nick Murdick has performed as a horn and alphorn soloist with the Goppisberg Music Festival Orchestra in Graechen, Switzerland. While in Switzerland, Nick taught an individualized horn and alphorn course for three years and performed as a horn soloist and chamber musician in several cities throughout Switzerland.
Nick is interested in commercial business and food and helped launch the first draft kombucha bars in the State of Indiana with his beverage company Presto Kombucha (Edible Indy, 2015).
Nick Murdick earned an Artist Diploma from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he was the horn studio graduate assistant and studied horn with Randy Gardner and Duane Dugger. Nick studied alphorn with Fritz Frautschi and William Hopson in the Swiss Alps. Nick has performed in horn masterclasses for Barry Tuckwell, Francis Orval, and Hans Pizka.
