Background & Experience
Rebecca Zimmerman is an active cellist and music educator throughout North America. She recently returned to Chicago after a one year position as Visiting Assistant Cello Professor at the University of South Dakota. Rebecca is on the faculty of Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina where she has spent the last 14 summers performing with world-renowned musicians and teaching/coaching high school and college students. In Chicagoland, Rebecca has served on the faculty of Merit School of Music, Northwestern Music Academy, Glenbrook North and South High Schools, and Nequa Valley High. Rebecca has won positions with Richmond Symphony, New World Symphony, and Northwest Indiana Symphony. She also has performed with Elgin Symphony and Grant Park Symphony. Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music and her Master’s Degree from Northwestern University.
