Background & Experience
I teach all ages and ability levels, including drum set (all styles), band/orchestra percussion, and Latin/world percussion. Teaching affiliations have included DePaul University, University of Illinois, and Music Institute of Chicago. An ethnomusicologist by background, I've lived and studied music in India and the Caribbean, and teach percussion instruments from around the world. I have performed and recorded with a wide range of jazz, rock/funk, indie, and world music artists, including Jeff Chan, Hafez Modirzadeh, Sipos & Young, Sons of Daughters, Shelter Dogs, Just Groove, and many more. Professionally, I proudly serve as Associate Director of Midwest Young Artists Conservatory.
