Lisa Shaw began her violin journey at the start of the U.S. Suzuki movement, studying under renowned Suzuki educator Ellie Albers. She is a longtime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and a registered instructor, offering both Suzuki and traditional methods of teaching.
Lisa studied violin at Eastern Illinois University and Northern Illinois University and has been teaching in her Libertyville studio for over 20 years. She also contributed to the development of the violin program in Zion public schools, expanding access to music education in the district. She is currently on the staff at Zion Conservatory of Music and teaches at the Berean School in Zion.
She is an active orchestral and chamber musician, often stepping into leadership roles within local ensembles. Lisa has helped students prepare for auditions across youth orchestras, school programs, competitions, and college music programs—with a strong track record of successful outcomes.
Her goal is to foster a deep love of music in every student, while helping them build confidence through the discipline and joy of violin study.
