Raised in Chicago, violinist Ellie Kang has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She was a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center, NY, in South Africa with the KwaZulu-natal Philharmonic Orchestra and also with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Kang has appeared on PBS, performing live, in more than 35 major cities and states. Ellie Kang was concertmaster of the Pacific Orchestra in Japan. She has performed at Carnegie Hall as a member of several chamber orchestras. Winner of the Harvey E. Mittenthal Competition, she participated in the Steinway Young Artists Concert Series. Her first Lincoln Center debut was a violin-piano duo at Alice Tully Hall during her Master’s studies at The Juilliard School.
As a recording solo violinist of Tim Janis’s Ensemble, two CDs were #1 on the Billboard Chart for Classical Crossover. Ellie Kang was the Violin Director at the Alexander Robertson School for 10 years, faculty at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and St. David’s School.
Ms. Kang currently resides in the Northbrook, currently teaching and performing in New York, Chicago and Seoul. She has been giving lessons and recitals internationally for the last 30 years.
