Alison Kelly's most notable role is Christine in "Phantom of the Opera", directed by Hal Prince, which she did for 2 years in Hamburg, Germany. Alison can be heard on Folks Operetta's recordings of "Ball at the Savoy" and "Rose of Stambul" which were released on the Naxos label, as well as on the two-time Grammy-winning recording of Verdi's Requiem with Riccardo Muti. She has performed over 75 roles in operas, operettas, and musicals in Germany, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Connecticut, Ohio, Mississippi, and Texas. She has also sung back-up for Elton John, Jessye Norman, Vanessa Williams, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Barry Manilow in various TV specials and concerts. Alison is a co-founder of Folks Operetta and has been a regular chorus member in the Chicago Symphony Chorus for 20 years. She has been teaching for over 20 years. Former students have gone on to perform on Broadway, in national tours, and to earn scholarships to prominent universities for both classical and musical theater degrees. She has over 40 years experience in piano and teaches beginning to intermediate piano students as well. Ms. Kelly teaches with and has a background in techniques which eliminate tensions; finding the most relaxed ways to sing or play while developing her students' abilities to express the music.
