I am a violinist and teacher from Rogers Park on the North side of Chicago. I recently graduated from Oberlin and moved back to the city! I started teaching violin 8 years ago and absolutely love working with my students! I have experience teaching all ages.
I also play baroque violin and maintain an active performance schedule with groups such as Baroque Band (chicago’s baroque orchestra) and the Bach and Beethoven Ensemble. I also sing and play viola da gamba.
Teaching is so rewarding- I love helping students achieve their goals! I am a Suzuki certified teacher through book 6 and my teaching has been a mix of Suzuki and traditional, depending on what is best for the pupil.
In addition to performing and teaching violin, I am also very interested physical wellness and health, and am nearing completion of a yoga teacher certification. My interest in healthy posture and alignment comes from my own journey of finding a comfortable playing position for violin. My students physical well-being is a priority in my teaching. Movement practices I have studied and been influenced by include tai chi chuan, yoga, and Feldenkrais.
I teach private lessons at my studio in Rogers Park. To inquire about lessons, email or give me a call!
