Jessica Pearce is an active freelance hornist and teacher in the Chicago area, where she grew up. Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Illinois Wesleyan University where she studied with Christine Worthing. After finishing her bachelors she studied with Adam Unsworth at the University of Michigan for her masters in horn performance. Jessica has also studied with David Griffin of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Neil Kimel of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Since returning to Chicago with her masters, Jessica has become a member of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and the Chicago Horn Consort. She has also performed with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, the Northbrook Symphony, the Midwest Philharmonic, the Dubuque Symphony, da Corneto Opera Company, Steel Beam Theatre, the Chicago Composers Orchestra, and the Chicago Chamber Orchestra. While a student at the University of Michigan, Jessica subbed with the Jackson, Adrian, and Dearborn Symphonies in addition to placing in the finals of the Chicago Brass Festival Solo competition.
In the summer of 2011 Jessica toured China with the University of Michigan Symphony Band as they performed in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Xi’an, and Hangzhou. Music from their tour can be heard on the CD "Artifacts", released by Equilibrium in February 2012.
In addition to teaching at Conant High School, Jessica is currently the horn instructor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and at the Midwest Conservatory of Music in Hoffman Estates, IL. She has also held studios in Bloomington, IL and Ann Arbor, MI.
