Michelle Horvath is a classically trained harpist of over sixteen years. She has studied under acclaimed performers Maria Casale, Joan Holland at the University of Michigan, and Susan Allen at the California Institute of the Arts. Striving for versatility and creative innovation, Michelle pursued the study of Jazz and Improvisation under the guidance of Ed Sarath, Dennis Wilson, Vinny Golia, Charlie Haden, and Geri Allen. Michelle was a member of the Creative Arts Orchestra during her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, and Vinny Golia’s Big Band during her graduate studies at CalArts. She is also a dedicated teacher of harp, music theory, and improvisation to her expanding Chicago studio. Michelle continues to play music of all genres with local artists in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas.
