(Jessica Louise Coe) has been teaching piano for ten years and while she has worked extensively with children, she is comfortable teaching all ages. Her teaching experience includes private voice and piano lessons, general K-8 music at a local school, conducting children's choruses, and musical directing children's musical theatre performances. As a pianist she has been accompanying herself, choruses, and other vocalists from the time she was 12 years old and even accompanied a chorus performance at the United Nations at the age of 17. With a passion for vocal music, she can still be found accompanying singers, choruses or musical performances, most recently contracted with the Lyric Opera of Chicago to accompany its Opera Kids program. As a vocalist, she began performing in choruses 14 years ago and hasn't stopped singing since. Trained in classical voice at DePaul University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, she has since continued to develop her voice and expand her singing career in opera, musical theatre, and elsewhere. Her philosophy for teaching is: teach others how to teach themselves. She focuses on helping her students understand the magical process of how to create beautiful, meaningful music from a simple page of notes.
