Ann Dufek is band director at Wilmette Jr. High in Wilmette, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Music from The University of Miami in Bassoon Performance and a Masters of Music Education and Performance from Northwestern University.
Ms. Dufek is an active musician in the Chicago area having performed with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, South Bend Symphony, Chicago Sinfonietta, Ars Viva Symphony, and Highland Park String Orchestra. She is a founding member of the Sapphire woodwind quintet.
Ms. Dufek served as guest lecturer and adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University from 2001-2009. Ms. Dufek maintains an active private bassoon studio, and since 2000, she has served as the studio bassoon teacher for several local high schools including: New Trier High School, Highland Park High School, Niles North High School, and Niles West High School. Under Ms. Dufek's instruction, her bassoon students have consistently placed in IMEA district and state performing ensembles, and they have been accepted into to the top Music Schools and Conservatories in throughout the country.
