Background & Experience

Dr. Kate Carter is an experienced teacher, performer, lecturer, and adjudicator. She has performed with top ensembles in Chicago including the Grant Park Symphony, Lyric Opera Orchestra, Music of the Baroque, Chicago Philharmonic, Camerata Chicago and more. She is a returning presenter at the ASTA National Conferences, and an in-demand clinician and adjudicator. A founding member of violin-piano ensemble Blue Violet Duo, she has been heard at Weill Hall, the Dame Myra Hess series and on radio stations throughout the US and abroad. As a teacher, she specializes in overcoming performance anxiety and in fostering peak performance.
