Melissa Arbetter received her Bachelor of Music Degree with honors from Northwestern University. She completed a double major in Violin Performance and Music Education. She received a Masters of Music Degree from DePaul University, where she was a scholarship recipient as well as concertmistress of the Symphony Orchestra. Additional studies at the University of Minnesota. Ms. Arbetter has performed as a member of numerous orchestras and theatres in the Chicago region and has attended summer festivals in Austria and Aspen. She has also collaborated on several CD's.
Previously, Ms. Arbetter taught at DePaul University's Community Music Division and in the Winnetka public schools. In addition to a current home studio, Ms. Arbetter now teaches at the Music Institute of Chicago in Winnetka and Lake Forest.
Ms. Arbetter's students have received numerous awards in orchestral competitions and solo and ensemble contests. Her teaching philosophy is to help each student achieve their personal best, with the underlying Suzuki belief that
