Svetlana Smith, an MTNA member, has over twenty years experience in working with piano students of various ages and backgrounds, from beginning to college levels. She specializes in classical repertoire but also uses different methods and music styles, according to student’s interests. Her warm and patient teaching approach is particularly suitable for beginners and kids, but her exceptional performance background and artistry gives her the ability to confidently teach and prepare students at the most advanced levels.
Mrs. Smith graduated from the University of Oregon and Belarus State Conservatory , and studied music management at European Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. She worked as piano instructor and accompanist at NKY School of Music, University of Louisville, KY, Florence Music Academy, KY, Moscow music college, Russia, and as a private accompanist in greater Cincinnati area. Currently teaches at University of Cincinnati and NKY School of Music.
