Background & Experience
A vivacious and passionate educator and performer, Kristina is a Teaching Artist for Sistema Ravinia's Harza Nucleo, bringing intensive after school El Sistema music program to elementary and middle school students of Lake County. At Sistema Ravinia she teaches group clarinet lessons, woodwind sectionals, large ensemble rehearsals, and Bucket Beats. In addition, Kristina has an active private studio in the greater Chicago area. Kristina meets her students at their unique needs, and has extensive experience with adaptive music education for students with learning differences.
Kristina received her Masters in Clarinet Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music where she held the Graduate Teaching Assistantship for instructing MUE-221 Clarinet Methods. Kristina holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance, Magna Cum Laude, from DePaul University and is an alumna of Interlochen Arts Academy. Her principal teachers include Kenneth Grant, Larry Combs, Julie DeRoche, Susan Warner, Deborah Chodacki and Nancy Mathison.
