Christopher Fiore began studying the cello at age four with his parents, both of whom are established Suzuki teachers and performers in the Philadelphia area.
Christopher continued his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance. While there, he helped to build a cello program with Rainbow Strings, an after- school inner-city program started by Suzuki violin teacher Michele George.
After graduating from CIM, Christopher went on to obtain a Masters Degree, as well as a Performance Certificate at the DePaul School of Music in Chicago, IL, where he studied with various members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. At the same time, he entered into an Apprenticeship with world- renowned Suzuki pedagogue Tanya Carey, and completed teacher training in all ten Suzuki Cello Books, as well as an additional Practicum course. While finishing his studies, he joined the faculty at the DePaul School of Music Community Music Division to help build and solidify the cello program there.
Christopher will be starting his first year with the Oak Park String Academy this fall, and is looking forward to creating a thriving cello community within the program.
