Background & Experience

Former Coordinator of Strings at Columbia College Chicago and North Park University Chicago, David Yonan has performed since his debut at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall at age 12 with major orchestras as a soloist in Europe, the U.S. and South America, such as the Berlin Symphony, the Berlin Radio Symphony, the Frankfurt Philharmonic, Nuremberg Symphony, Orchestra Sinfonica of Santiago de Chile, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, just to name a few.Recordings for Deutsche Welle, ARD, ZDF and WFMT Chicago. He is the winner of several distinguished international competitions, such as Ruggiero Ricci International Competition, International "Dr. Luis Sigall" Competition, Vina del Mar, Chile and International Violin Competition Kloster Schoental, Germany. In 2004 he founded the Fine Arts Music Society and International Festival, of which he is president and artistic director. His students have won top prizes in national and international competitions.
He has given master classes and lectures at San Francisco State University, Northwestern University, University of Chicago and the Hochschule fuer Musik "Franz Liszt" Weimar.
Yonan completed his studies at the Berlin Music Music Academy "Hanns Eisler with Prof. Werner Scholz, with Roland and Almita Vamos at Northwestern University and with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School.
